Sally Livingstone is the visionary force behind Spectrum Mothers Support Society. A pediatric nurse by training and a devoted foster parent for 40 years, Sally’s life’s work has been defined by a deep commitment to the well-being of children and families.
While raising her family in the District of North Vancouver and teaching the Medical Office Assistant course at Capilano College, Sally identified a critical gap in our community: new mothers in crisis were often left to navigate immense challenges without a support system. Driven by the belief that no mother should have to parent in isolation, she founded Spectrum to provide the "village" that so many families were missing.
Under Sally’s leadership, Spectrum has grown from a grassroots idea into a vital community pillar. She developed a unique model of care that pairs mothers in crisis with experienced, paid Caregivers who provide one-on-one encouragement and practical support. By building a network of over 20 referring agencies and public health partnerships, Sally has ensured that Spectrum’s reach is both direct and deeply effective.
